About Whitecotton Vision

Independent guidance. Local support. Better practice fit.

Whitecotton Vision is a founder-led ophthalmic technology company. Ryan covers Oklahoma, North and West Texas himself, so the person who recommends an instrument is the same one who demos it, installs it, trains the staff who will use it, and stays the point of contact afterward.

Meet Ryan Whitecotton

For more than 16 years, I have worked with eye care practices across Oklahoma and Texas helping doctors evaluate, implement and get more from ophthalmic technology.

This is my chosen profession, not simply my job. I have always viewed my role as an intermediary between interested parties: the doctor trying to determine what makes sense for the practice, the manufacturer bringing new technology to market, and the people responsible for making it actually work once it gets through the door. My job is to help find the common ground.

I am particularly passionate about diagnostic technology and the ways it can fundamentally change how a practice delivers care. OCT was a major part of my career, and watching OCT evolve into OCTA reinforced what I enjoy most about this business: helping doctors understand what new technology can actually mean inside their own practice, not simply what it says on a brochure.

Whitecotton Vision gives me the opportunity to bring that same approach across a broader group of technologies and practice solutions while remaining personally accountable to the doctors and teams I work with.

Away from work, most of my time belongs to the people I care about, my friends and family, the gym, and training for the occasional marathon. I also have an unreasonable appreciation for anything involving chocolate chip cookies and have been known to show up at an office with a homemade batch on special occasions.

How Whitecotton Vision Works

Start With the Practice, Not the Catalog

Most equipment conversations start with what the rep has to sell. Ryan runs them the other way around: what patients does the practice see, what is the staff actually able to operate, and what can the budget absorb this year. Then, and only then, which instrument earns the space.

Whitecotton Vision represents a curated group of manufacturers rather than a single line, which is what makes that first question workable. When the portfolio holds more than one way to solve the same clinical problem, the recommendation can follow the practice, and Ryan can tell a doctor an instrument is the wrong fit without leaving the conversation empty-handed.

Bring the problem, not a model number. Whether the question is a first OCT, a difficult-to-test visual field population, or what a cold start can defer until year two, the useful conversation starts with the practice. A practice in Lawton or Lubbock gets the same person for that conversation, the demo, the installation, and the phone call eight months later.
